Sherwood Carthen is lead pastor of Bayside of South Sacramento and chaplain
to NBA’s Sacramento Kings. Bayside is a dynamic cross-cultural church with
a tremendous ministry presence in the city of Sacramento, California. A
powerful speaker, Sherwood’s Bible messages stir his audiences as he
challenges listeners to action and punctuates his teaching with personal
real-life examples. He tells his stories in an interesting and gripping
fashion.
About his recent book Amen All By Myself, Sherwood Carthen says, “When
you’re at the end of your rope, you’re at the beginning of God’s hope.” He
has experienced the heartache of the wilderness and in the book will tell
you that the wilderness doesn’t mean that God is through with you. In fact,
God can use your wilderness season to accomplish a priceless work in your
life.
On his last visit to Cannon Beach, guests were moved by this humble man of
God, and enjoyed his skillful presentation of the Gospel.
Bill Butterworth is a fun speaker to have on the calendar. His bible
teaching not only draws from a resume of theology training, christian
educator work, and counseling practice, but benefits from his speaking
ability. Bill has won awards for standing at the podium and wrapping a
serious topic with humor, wit, warmth, realism and story-telling so the
audience not only enjoys the delivery, but gets the message. Deep,
life-changing messages. Bill is a popular speaker to audiences of all
kinds, and also a serious writer. Books and articles focused both in the
business world, and closer to his passion, books and columns on christian
topics.
Some of his most popular books include The Short List: In a Life Full of
Choices, There Are Only Four That Matter, plus The Promise of the
Second Wind: It's Never Too Late to Pursue God's Best, and New Life
After Divorce: The Promise of Hope Beyond the Pain.
Bill and his wife Kathi live and work out of Newport Beach, California.
