Summer Family Conference
with Barry Corey and Walter Kaiser
July 21 - 28, 2012
Dr. Barry Corey is president of Biola University. A Massachusetts native
he came to Biola from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton,
Massachusetts, where he served as vice president/chief academic officer and
academic dean. Dr. Corey received a B.A. from Evangel University, an M.A.
in American Studies from Boston College, and a Ph.D. from Boston College in
curriculum, instruction and administration. He was a Fulbright Scholar with
Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee and lived in Bangladesh among the
rural poor from 1990 to 1991. He has served on a number of non-profit
boards including the Board of Trustees of "Convoy of Hope," an
international relief and development organization, and the Board of
Trustees of "The Boston Theological Consortium" (a nine-member consortium
of theological schools in the Boston area including Harvard University,
Boston College and Boston University). He has also completed two Boston
Marathons, one in 2004 and one in 2006. He and his wife, Paula, have three
children: Anders, Ella and Samuel.
Dr. Walter Kaiser, an evangelical speaker, holds to the truths that the
Bible is inspired and inerrant. He uses hermeneutics rooted in
grammatical-historical methods. Teaches Promise Theology using expository
preaching methods that focus on the meaning and messages of the biblical
text, especially that of the Old Testament. Dr. Kaiser’s love of his LORD,
Jesus Christ, his knowledge of the whole biblical text, and a God given
gift of humor make Dr. Kaiser a sought after evangelical speaker and
Christian author. For many years now, Walter Kaiser has blessed generations
of guests in Cannon Beach.
Retired now from the presidency of Gordon-Conwell Seminary, when Dr. Kaiser
isn't traveling and speaking he can be found at his farm, Kerith, in
Wisconsin. Having grown up on a farm in Pennsylvania, Walter loves the farm
life. He is an avid gardener and enjoys spending free time on a tractor.
Together Walter and Margaret share their home with two of their children,
their son-in-law and five of their grandchildren. To add to the excitement
of Kerith's family farm life they enjoy watching their son-in-law and
daughters' llama herd.
