July 28 - August 4, 2012

Dr. Craig Barnes was raised on Long Island, New York. After graduating from The King’s College and Princeton Seminary, he received a Ph.D. in The History of Christianity from The University of Chicago. Craig is currently pastor of Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is also Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Dr. Barnes is the author of several books and articles that center on the struggle of contemporary people making sense of God's grace. His published books include Yearning, When God Interrupts, Hustling God, Sacred Thirst, Extravagant Mercy, Searching For Home, and most recently, The Pastor as Minor Poet.

He is married to Dawne, has three delightful children and a hairy dog named Esau.

Mark Spurlock is executive pastor of Twin Lakes Church in Aptos (Santa Cruz), California. With a background in Christian Camp leadership, witnessing to surfers on the beach, and working with the pastoral team of a large dynamic church, Mark brings a wide array of experience to the pulpit. As Bible teacher a number of times at Cannon Beach, Mark is enjoyed for his great sense of humor and the ability to skillfully open Scripture to conference guests.
