Summer Family Conference
with Craig Barnes and Mark Spurlock
July 28 - August 4, 2012
Dr. Craig Barnes was raised on Long Island, New York. After
graduating from The King’s College and Princeton Seminary, he received a
Ph.D. in The History of Christianity from The University of Chicago. Craig
is currently pastor of Shadyside Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania and is also Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary.
Dr. Barnes is the author of several books and articles that center on the
struggle of contemporary people making sense of God's grace. His published
books include Yearning, When God Interrupts, Hustling God,
Sacred Thirst, Extravagant Mercy, Searching For Home,
and most recently, The Pastor as Minor Poet.
He is married to Dawne, has three delightful children and a hairy dog named
Esau.
Mark Spurlock is executive pastor of Twin Lakes Church in Aptos
(Santa Cruz), California. With a background in Christian Camp leadership,
witnessing to surfers on the beach, and working with the pastoral team of a
large dynamic church, Mark brings a wide array of experience to the pulpit.
As Bible teacher a number of times at Cannon Beach, Mark is enjoyed for his
great sense of humor and the ability to skillfully open Scripture to
conference guests.
Mark and his wife Lora have three children. They enjoy the beautiful
California coast and every chance to surf the Santa Cruz waves.
