Website: Project Diary-Update 10 – October 27, 2008
Lots of work has been going on INSIDE the building the past few weeks, so we have posted some recent pictures showing plumbing work, the installation of the sprinkler system, the mechanical (heating) system and some initial electrical work. All this takes time with an 8,500 square foot building but they have been making good progress. All of these sub-contractors except AFP Sprinklers (Portland) are local and have done work for us many times before, including M & F Plumbing, Diamond Heating and Inland Electric. Also exciting was the arrival yesterday of a volunteer siding crew from the Seattle area—NW Siders. They already have part of the south and east ends of the building sided. They anticipate finishing it in the next week or week and a half. We are using a Hardy board material that has proven (on PVL) to work extremely well in our wet, stormy climate. (Just kidding—it’s always sunny here!) Keep praying for safety and an adequate number of volunteers as we head into the winter and for favor with the M.J. Murdock Trust as they consider our grant request for financial support of the new dorm!
