Project Diary Update – August 12, 2007

We met in mid-August with our volunteer architect, Steve Winstead, to review site plans, building plans, engineering plans for utilities, parking and drainage and the landscape plan, done by volunteer Mark Hadley. All plans are nearly ready for submittal to the City of Cannon Beach Design Review Board. There was a question about a boundary survey for the larger land parcel which prevented us from meeting the August 10 monthly submittal deadline. We will submit those plans September 10, with the DRB considering them at the October meeting. Securing permits could allow us to begin construction by year end.

Nearly $300,000 has been given and is available for the first phase of the construction. Guy Williams, volunteer general contractor and Sam Ortwig, CBCC maintenance manager, are soliciting bids from sub-contractors and coordinating utility installation and timing.
