Website: Project Diary-Update 4 – April 4, 2008

The lengthy planning and permit process has finally concluded with the securing of our BUILDING PERMIT yesterday (April 3)!! It’s amazing how much work goes into getting that simple piece of paper! Construction can now officially begin.

In Mid-March, the power company, in preparation for construction, installed two large electrical vaults on the south end of the property for electric service to the new dorm and other buildings in the area.

The week of April 7, grading of the new parking area will begin so there will still be guest parking during construction. In mid-April our volunteer general contractor, Guy Williams, will move to Cannon Beach to oversee the work. So we are on our way!

We hope to have significant framing done this summer and are actively recruiting and scheduling volunteers. There should be enough money on hand to carry us into the fall.
