Website: Project Diary-Update 5 – May 23, 2008
After lots of preliminary work, sub-contractor bids and planning, site excavation started in earnest Friday, May 23! As a relatively flat lot, not a lot of excavation needs to be done other than to level the building area and meet the height/elevation requirements. McEwan Construction, a local excavation company that has worked with and been supportive of CBCC for many years, is doing the excavation. With that work done, the concrete company, Prom Construction, can begin setting the forms for the foundation slab and stem walls. That will begin next week, Lord willing.
There is a lot of “gearing up” that goes into a major building construction. Our maintenance staff usually puts aside all but the most critical work on the grounds and buildings to help with the project. The mobilization of volunteers is underway and will build through the summer. Building progress communication and fund raising efforts are being activated and kept up to date. And the fervency of prayer increases as we look to the Lord for His blessing on both the work and the resulting ministry that will occur. So it is pretty exciting! Thanks for your support and keep watching the webcam as progress unfolds!
