Project Diary-Update 9 – October 9, 2008
It is great to see the new dorm building begin to actually LOOK like a building! Roofers finished installing the roof two days ago, just in time to shed some heavy rains. The windows have been put in and doors were being installed as we took a tour of seniors through the building yesterday. Special thanks to those volunteers who have continued to make good progress and who have nearly completed the close in of the building. As I mentioned earlier, the plumbing sub-contractor has been working on the rough plumbing and the sprinkler system company has also been installing pipes and sprinkler heads throughout the building. We anticipate the electrical contractor to begin work on wiring in the next week or two. The volunteer siding contractor was delayed and will be arriving later this month to install all the Hardy board horizontal siding and the decorative cedar siding on the gable ends.
As we have mentioned before, we hope to have the building done by May 2009 in time for our summer staff to arrive. The Ecola Bible School staff could also begin moving in during the summer months. So far we are on track for that schedule. Keep praying for workers, safety and adequate funds to keep the project moving.
