CBCC GAP Program

A DIFFICULT DECISION

Should I serve in a summer ministry position OR earn money for college? 

The rising cost of college tuition has created a sizable “gap” between what CBCC is able to pay summer staff and what they must earn in order to stay in school or avoid burdensome school debt.

The CBCC GAP program is an opportunity for you to help bridge that gap by meeting three key needs:

Giving

Affirmation

Prayer

GIVING
Through the GAP Program, supporters may make a tax deductible gift to Cannon Beach Conference Center and indicate your preference for which staff member you would like your funds to support.   This contribution is made with the understanding that CBCC has complete control and administration over the use of the donated funds.  Summer staff may receive up to $1,500 in addition to their regular summer earnings by participating in the GAP program.

MORE THAN MONEY
The GAP Program is also an opportunity to have a direct impact on a summer staff member’s life through affirmation and prayer.

AFFIRMATION
Summer staff is a rewarding but demanding experience.  Long hours and challenging work can leave our staff feeling drained.  Through the GAP Program, you will be encouraged to maintain regular contact with your summer staff person by phone, e-mail, or even personal visits.  The encouragement they will gain from your affirmation will be a powerful boost as they serve throughout the summer.

PRAYER
Perhaps the most important aspect of the GAP Program is prayer.  At CBCC, we believe prayer is essential to successful ministry.  A summer staff experience at Cannon Beach can be a life changing spiritual experience.  Your prayer support is greatly needed as our staff seek to develop spiritual disciplines that will last long after the summer is over.
