Mid-Winter Bible Conference with Art Azurdia
January 23-27, 2012
This
will be Cannon Beach Conference Center’s thirty-fourth year
presenting a week of Bible teaching and music in warm and
sunny Indio, California at the Date Festival fairgrounds. It started out as mostly
“snowbirds” from the Northwest joining a handful of
California residents for a taste of what we do in Cannon
Beach. It is now tradition for many Southwesterners and
RVers alike, in much more equal numbers, who thoroughly
enjoy the fellowship and spiritual refreshment of a solid
Bible-based program.
Dr. Art Azurdia will be the featured Bible Teacher. He is Senior Minister of Word and Worship
at Trinity Church, and Associate Professor of Pastoral Mentoring at Western Seminary in Portland,
Oregon. Beyond his extensive credentials, he is an engaging and captivating speaker, approachable,
and easy to engage in interesting conversation.
Music will feature a long-time Cannon Beach favorite Johnny Ray Watson. His rich baritone voice,
presenting Gospel music old and new, has blessed many over the years.
Meeting times are 7:00 pm Monday through
Friday evenings, and 10:00 am Tuesday through Friday mornings in
the Fullenwider Auditorium. Plenty of seating is available and a
customized sound system. There is no charge for the meetings and
the public is welcome. An offering for expenses will be taken
during the week.
Hook-ups are available on the Date Festival
fairgrounds for trailers, motor homes, and campers for $23.00 per
day. Not all spaces have full hook-up potential.
Recreational vehicles must bring their own fresh water Y-adapter,
sewer Y-adapter, garden hose adapter, and a 50 foot extension cord
(at least 14 gauge x 3 strand.) Spaces are available on a first
come, first served basis only.
It is very helpful for the financial stability
of the Indio conference that RV guests stay on the fairgrounds.
CBCC receives an auditorium discount if at least 100 fairground
hook-ups are used rather than outlying parks. Please consider this
as you plan. RV’s can begin registering Saturday morning.
A number of motels are located within easy
driving distance of the conference. For lodging options call the
Indio Chamber of Commerce at (760) 347-0676.
For motorists traveling from Los Angeles to
Indio, the Date Festival Fairgrounds is off Interstate 10. Take the
Monroe Street off-ramp and go south on Monroe to Highway 111, then
east on Highway 111 to the fairgrounds on Arabia Street
Special events include:
:: Potluck picnic at the fairgrounds
:: A special musical concert
:: Favorite hymn sing
:: The lively and entertaining guest talent night.
:: Information on self-guided tours and things
to see in the area will be available during the conference.
